Have you got what it takes to win a Green Award?
With the deadline for submissions fast approaching, don’t miss your chance to enter db’s Green Awards 2025, the only set of industry gongs dedicated to celebrating the sustainable superheroes of the drinks trade.

Do you work for a retailer that’s dedicated to improving its environment credentials and those of its suppliers? Perhaps you’re a sommelier whose restaurant has doubled the size of its organic wine offer in the last year. You might even know an individual quietly beavering away behind the scenes in the drinks trade, whose commitment towards making the planet a better place deserves a bright spotlight.
The Green Awards 2025 is your chance to be recognised and celebrated for the sustainable work you and your colleagues do.
Organised by the drinks business, this prestigious set of annual awards covers every corner of the drinks trade from biodiversity and water conservation in the vineyard or distillery to green supply chains, sustainable packaging innovations and renewable energy-powered logistics.
There’s also a big focus on people. You guys!
We want to hear from drinks companies that are putting their staff and their communities first, as well as from individuals who are going out and spreading the good green word far and wide.

Winning candidates
The past winners of our Green Personality of the Year have proved to be exceptional. This award goes to an individual who has excelled in the last 12 months in furthering environmental causes within the industry or their company. The winning candidate will have worked to bring their green concerns to a broader audience within their field and can prove that they are setting the standard in promoting better practices.
Last year, the honour went to Sebastián Tramon, head of sustainability at Chilean producer Emiliana Organic Vineyards. In 2023, it was Andrés Valero, sustainability and CSR leader at Argentina’s Grupo Avinea, who won the accolade. In 2022, it was Herve Birnie-Scott, estate director for Terrazas de los Andes who took home the trophy, and in 2021 the award went to Bárbara Wolff Göpfert, chief corporate affairs & innovation at Chilean wine group VSPT. Do you know someone who can interrupt South America’s four-year run of wins?
In the Green Retailer of the Year category, gongs have been handed out in recent years to The Wine Society and Direct Wines. Awarded to the retailer who can best demonstrate how business practices have had a direct impact on improving their and their suppliers’ environmental credentials within the area of drinks retailing, the judges look for someone who has launched initiatives for alternative packaging, a wider range of organic or sustainably farmed products or changes in supply chain and recycling operations to reduce emissions.
Have you masterminded an organic project in the last 12 months? Why not enter the Organic Initiative of the Year? This award recognises companies for their work in bringing a fresh approach to the production, retail or on-trade arena. Recent winners include Argentina’s Domaine Bousquet, Shannon Family of Wines in California and Hammer & Son English Gin.
Don’t miss out on your chance to win an award for yourself, your company or a colleague, and start your entry today.
