Revealed: the full list of wines tasted at WSET Diploma exams in 2025
For the first time the Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) has revealed the complete list of wines used in its 2024/25 Diploma tasting exams. So which regions and producers put this year’s students to the test?

A total of 42 wines from 12 countries featured in the WSET Level 4 Diploma in Wines blind tastings across the past academic year.
The Diploma is made up of six units, three of which — D3: Wines of the World, D4: Sparkling Wines and D5: Fortified Wines — feature tasting exams.
The D3 module, which covers the broadest area of learning, also features the most extensive blind tasting, with 24 wines sampled over two exams.
WSET’s D4 and D5 units each feature the tasting of nine wines across three exams.
The full list of still, sparkling and fortified wines tasted across all three units in the 2024/25 academic year were sourced from France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Spain, Portugal, the US, Chile, Argentina, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
Simon Milroy MW, WSET Diploma lead, qualifications, said of the exam structure: “Our job is to present students with styles and quality levels that reflect the world of wine today, whether that’s a rare Blaufränkisch from Burgenland, Austria or a commercial bestseller from South Eastern Australia.”
