Exploring Chilean terroir

This week, db visited more than 20 wineries across Chile ahead of the Focus on Chile feature in the September issue. Highlights included the Apalta vineyards of Viña Montes in the Colchagua Valley, where Aurelio Montes guided Arabella Mileham through high-altitude vines and the cellars famous for their Gregorian chants that serenade barrels as they age.
Aviary x Joseph Perrier summer terrace

In London, Aviary Rooftop Bar launched its summer terrace in partnership with Champagne house Joseph Perrier, marking Joseph Perrier’s 200th anniversary and ETM Group’s 25th year in hospitality. The rooftop retreat features Champagne carts, bespoke cocktails and exclusive menus, as well as an oyster hour running Monday to Wednesday and a Champagne Birdsong Brunch with DJs and seafood sharing platters every weekend.
Bibendum’s Parisian day out

On Monday, Bibendum Wine hosted a day trip to Paris for on-trade customers. The itinerary included a Champagne breakfast on the Eurostar, a lunch with Bibendum’s French wine producers and a scenic river cruise on the Seine – a day designed to strengthen producer and trade connections while celebrating French wine culture.
Telmont’s organic rosé launch

Under a vine-strung pergola at Highgate’s Red Lion & Sun – crowned London’s Best Pub at the National Pub & Bar Awards – Champagne Telmont’s president, Ludovic du Plessis, launched the house’s inaugural organic rosé, Réserve de la Terre Rosé. Made from the 2020 and 2021 vintages, this limited cuvée (just 5,119 bottles) is vibrant, saline, and intensely alive – a rosé d’assemblage of Chardonnay, Meunier, and Pinot Noir, including 15% red wine from the Côte des Bars. Bottled in recycled green glass and made entirely from certified organic grapes, it marks a bold, soil-first statement in Champagne’s future. RRP £88.
Master of Malt showcases new releases

Soho whisky bar Dram hosted Master of Malt’s New Product Showcase, celebrating 40 years in the trade. Guests sampled new independent bottlings, releases from That Boutique-y Whisky Company, Kyrö, &Whisky and Badly Drawn Dogs, alongside the infamous Dalry Milk April Fool’s whisky, which has gained cult status among collectors.
