Pasqua Wines partners with Charles Smith for global distribution push

The Italian producer is set to distribute House of Smith wines internationally as it takes minority stake in Real Wine brand

Pasqua Wines has announced an international partnership with celebrated Washington State winemaker Charles Smith, becoming the exclusive global distributor for selected wines from the House of Smith portfolio.

The agreement, announced yesterday, 8 July, coincides with Pasqua’s centenary year and marks a strategic expansion beyond Italian wine. Under the new partnership, the Verona-based producer will take on international distribution of the K Vintners, Real Wine, and Sex wine brands in select global markets, beginning September 2025.

As part of the deal, Pasqua Wines will also acquire up to 20% ownership of the Real Wine brand, with the final stake dependent on performance and growth targets.

“This represents more than a distribution agreement – it’s a true meeting of minds,” said Pasqua Wines CEO Riccardo Pasqua. “Charles’s fearless and distinctive voice in winemaking has always inspired me and resonates deeply with my family’s winery philosophy. Together, we’re committed to bringing that vibrant energy and excellence to wine lovers around the world.”

Shared vision and global reach

The partnership sees two producers with reputations for innovation and strong brand identities align to reach a wider international audience. House of Smith, known for its low-intervention winemaking and bold visual style, is one of the most recognised wine producers in North America, having earned over 325 scores of 95 points or higher and more than 1,450 scores of 90+.

“Partnering with Pasqua Wines, a shining star of Italian wine with over 100 years of legacy, is a tremendous opportunity,” said Charles Smith, founder and winemaker at House of Smith. “This partnership gives us access to an international network that will allow us to share the story of our wines, rooted in place, purpose, and passion, with more people than ever before.”

Pasqua Wines, an ambassador of Amarone della Valpolicella and other prestigious Veneto wines, is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year. With the launch of its “House of the Unconventional” manifesto, the company has positioned itself as a hub for creativity and innovation in winemaking.
