One half of Coldplay cam affair couple married to Privateer Rum boss

Kriston Cabot, who was beamed onto the big screen getting cosy with her employer at a Coldplay gig in Boston, is allegedly married to the CEO of Privateer Rum.

A video clip went viral last week after the ‘kiss cam’ at a Coldplay concert projected a happy couple in each other’s arms onto the big screen at the Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts, United States. It transpired that the man and woman were not each others’ spouses after the two swiftly leapt apart and tried to cover their faces.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin can be heard saying “Oh, look at these two” as the camera pans over to Byron and Cabot, before the two crouch down in a shocked attempt to hide from the camera. Martin then quips: “Oh, what…either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.”

The pair have since been identified as Andy Bryon, CEO of specialist data and AI company Astronomer, and Kriston Cabot, who heads up HR for the same firm. Bryon has since resigned from his position following a formal investigation.

A statement issued by Astronomer reads: “Andy Byron has tendered his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met.”

So far, Kriston Cabot remains in her position.

According to the New York Post, Bryon’s former role as CEO came with an annual salary of $US469,000 to $US690,000, plus performance-based bonuses. LinkedIn profiles for Bryon and Cabot, as well as other members of the Astronomer team, have been stripped back or deactivated since the Coldplay concert took place on 16 July.

Privateer rum

Kriston Cabot is thought to be married to Andrew Cabot, chief executive of Privateer Rum, based in New England. The two are both listed as co-owners on official documentation for a $2.2 million property purchased in February 2025.

According to the company’s website, Andrew Cabot is descended from a merchant, rum distiller and American privateer during the American Revolution, who died in 1791. His fleet reportedly totalled more than 25 ships including one called the True American, a term later adopted to describe the ethos of spirits produced by Privateer Rum.

Described as “the driving force behind the company”, Cabot has said that “American privateers played a pivotal role in defeating what seemed an insurmountable foe. Their courage and ingenuity helped change the outcome of the Revolution. Privateer Rum is following suit, disregarding commonly accepted practices of larger rum producers including sweetening, flavouring, filtering and spicing their industrial distillate, to establish a new standard in rum – one of honesty and purity.”

Maggie Campbell, master distiller at Privateer Rum since 2012, is currently studying to become a Master of Wine. “Everything about the Master of Wine informs my distilling work,” she told Punch magazine. “We bottle our single-cask rums very much like the en rama style in Sherry (direct from cask, no filter, no proofing). The MW perspective changes how I taste and look at how our rum is enjoyed.”

Andrew Cabot has not spoken publicly about the Coldplay gig incident. db has reached out to Privateer Rum for comment.
