Estrella Damm 0.0% becomes available in the UK
Damm Brewery has launched Estrella Damm 0.0% in the UK, following a surge in customer demand for alcohol-free beers.

The alcohol-free “taste of the Mediterranean” known as Estrella Damm 0.0% is a premium non-alcoholic beer that, according to the brewer, offers “the same refreshing taste and character as our iconic Estrella Damm lager just now with the alcohol removed”.
The product will be rolled out across UK on-trade hospitality venues and off-trade retailers after a boost in demand for non-alcoholic options has become increasingly evident across Britain.
Speaking to the drinks business, Damm UK managing director Luke White said: “Damm as a company, is not a newcomer to the non-alcoholic beer trend. Spain is the third largest non-alcoholic market in the world which accounts for more than 10% of the total volume within the beer market, ranking among the top in non-alcoholic beers on offer. To compare this to the UK market, non-alcoholic beers still represent less than 2% of the total consumption. However, we know that there is growing demand here in the UK for low and no alcohol options, hence the choice to launch Estrella Damm 0.0%, an instantly recognisable brand of premium quality.”

White explained: “To put it in perspective in terms of statistics, Damm brews more alcohol-free beer in Spain than the entire size of the UK non-alcoholic market. This is why Damm is well placed to create a new product to release in the UK market. It draws upon its experience brewing non-alcoholic beers in Spain over the past 20 years, where several different varieties are available including lagers as well as both flavoured and toasted beers.”
Drawing upon its expertise in brewing alcohol-free varieties since 2003, Damm revealed how it has pioneered a technique to ensure that all alcohol is removed. To preserve the signature taste, after the yeast is added to cause natural fermentation, the alcohol is gently removed through advanced vacuum distillation, while a unique process restores the aromatic components often lost in traditional methods of making non-alcoholic beer.
White told db: “Estrella Damm 0.0% is brewed using the same ingredients and same method as Estrella Damm, its alcoholic counterpart, just with the alcohol removed through the vacuum distillation process. It has pioneered this process to include a special system to replace any lost aromatic components in order to maintain the beer’s flavour profile and character.”
Estrella Damm 0.0% will be available on draught in a selection of pubs and bars, including Youngs pubs in London and will also be stocked in Sainsbury’s stores as well as a range of bottle shops and supermarkets in four-packs of 440ml cans.
