Laurent-Perrier unveils bamboo robe for its cuvée rosé

The eye-catching design for Laurent-Perrier’s latest limited-edition cuvée rosé bottle robe takes inspiration from jungle flora.

The bamboo robe, made out of enamel, is detachable and can be reused for any future bottles. It is the fifth limited-edition robe the house has unveiled since 2016 – previous designs include one depicting butterflies and another styled with the house’s initials.

The bamboo motif is intended to symbolise the importance of the natural environment, and, though there are no known bamboo-eating pandas in Montagne de Reims or Bouzy, it also represents the ecosystem of Laurent-Perrier’s vineyards.

As for what’s within the gilded outer cage, the Cuvée Rosé since 1968 is made from 100% Pinot Noir which, through cold maceration, lends its distinctive pink hue and aromas of raspberry, strawberry and red cherry. It has been aged for a minimum of five years.

Laurent-Perrier UK brand director Daniel Brennan said: “Champagne Laurent-Perrier has been known for over 50 years as a family owned champagne house dedicated to sustainability, providing an iconic serve for all occasions. With the products innovative enamel casing, Champagne Laurent-Perrier has delighted champagne aficionados by bringing the new launch of the Bamboo Robe and is proud to re-introducing the ever loved and delicious Cuvée Rosé.”

As well as off-trade (where its RRP is £74.99), the Champagne will also be available in the appropriately jungular refurbishment of Kensington Gardens Bar at the Royal Albert Hall. For every Cuvée Rosé purchased, £1 is donated directly to Plantlife, an organisation that focuses on lasting positive change for wildflowers, plants and fungi.

The Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé also received Gold at this year’s Champagne Masters. To read the full list, click here.
