Celebrated chef Gordon Ramsay will invest £150,000 in a rising food or drinks business in his new BBC TV show, Gordon Ramsay’s Future Food Stars.

As well as a restaurant empire that spans the Atlantic, Gordon Ramsay has a back catalogue of TV shows to rival practically any popular entertainer of the last 20 years.

From turning around failing restaurants in Kitchen Nightmares to hunting out the next generation of top chefs in MasterChef Junior, Ramsay is no stranger to the camera, and has become known for his no-nonsense attitude and eviscerating, highly inventive barrage of insults.

But the new show will see 12 up-and-coming UK food and drinks entrepreneurs compete to win £150,000 of investment from Ramsay over the course of the TV program, which will air on BBC One and iPlayer.

You can watch a preview of the show right here:

Among the contenders is 28-year-old Ash, maker of unusually-flavoured marmalades and jams designed to appeal to a younger consumer base, such as Negroni Marmalade and Espresso Martini Marmalade.

Meanwhile, 35-year-old Jen of bottled cocktail business The Cocktail Pickers Club is another contender. Aiming to cut the cost of at-home drinking and cocktail making, the brand’s expressions include a rhubarb vodka and rum with mango and ginger.

Last year, Gordon Ramsay announced the launch of his own Italian wine collection. He was interviewed by the drinks business at the time of the launch.

Gordon Ramsay’s restaurants have received 16 Michelin stars over the course of his career and currently hold seven.
