Why everyone’s buzzing over Psychedelic Water
The world’s first psychedelic beverage brand, Psychedelic Water, has been touted as a way for consumers to legally experience psychedelics.
The canned drink, which reportedly fuels creativity, boosts moods and offers drinkers mental clarity and bliss, is made from kava root, damiana leaf and green tea leaf extract.
Across social media, especially TikTok, the drinks brand has become known as “influencer juice” owing largely to its popularity from a range of high profile lifestyle influencers who have tried it and been rapturous about its benefits.
The lightly-carbonated colourful drinks, which can be found in holographic cans, are available in flavours including: Blackberry & Yuzu; Hibiscus & Lime; and Oolong & Orange Blossom.
Psychedelic Water recently expanded across US retail into Erewhon Market locations and, according to reports, the listing has been heralded as what could be the beginnings of a global movement to make psychedelics mainstream.
The co-founder of the company Keith Stein, who has established himself in the cannabis industry and dreamt up the idea of Psychedelic Water before making his dreams a reality alongside entrepreneur Pankaj Gogia, revealed that the end goal for the drink was to destigmatize psychedelics.
According to the company: “This is a hangover-free experience made to feel good without messing you up” and “we are spreading the gospel of psychedelics and developing mainstream products that leave you with a tongue-tingling feeling of happiness, mental clarity, and creative bliss. The herbs we use offer a mild, calming sensation that simply make you feel good without any mental inhibition. The first few sips, most people will feel a tingling sensation on the tongue – that’s the kava saying “hello!” Anywhere from 5-15 minutes later, you’ll slowly feel the subtle effects of our blend kicking-in. Stress will melt away and you’ll start to feel happy inside. We kept our blend mellow for novice and experts alike for all to enjoy.
