Bombay Sapphire launches groovy limited-edition bottle

The gin brings a dollop of pizazz to its iconic blue bottle, thanks to a collaboration with LA artist Steven Harrington.

If your drinks trolley is looking a little lacklustre, then one of these should brighten things up no end. The new, limited-edition Bombay Sapphire bottle designed by Steven Harrington launched yesterday, bringing the Los Angeles artist’s signature psychedelic pop art to homes everywhere.

Renowned for his whimsical graphic illustrations, the fun bottle design makes it seem entirely possible that Austin Powers could leap out from behind a velvet curtain at any minute, brandishing a G&T, and crying “Groovy babyyyy!”.

Featuring a vibrant collage of motifs, including the artist’s signature palm tree characters alongside paint splashes, artist palettes and funky illustrations of Bombay Sapphire’s botanicals, the exciting new look marks the second artist-designed bottle for the brand.

It follows on from Bombay Sapphire’s hook-up with Hebru Brantley, known for his afro-futurist anime, in July 2020. In fact, it was Brantley who nominated Steven Harrington to design this latest edition.

“We’re delighted to be collaborating with Steven Harrington for the new Bombay Sapphire Artist Limited Edition Bottle, who is revered for his joyful, contemporary pop-art aesthetic. We thought his design was the perfect fit to grace shelves just in time for summer entertaining. We hope it becomes a beloved collector’s item for gin and art fans alike,” said Jaime Keller, North America brand director for Bombay Sapphire.
