Top bottled cocktails delivered to your door

It’s not only chefs that have been pivoting to takeaways, some of London’s top bartenders have been busy creating bottled cocktail collections that can be delivered to your door.

Speakeasy at Home

The founders of three of London’s top drinking dens – Nightjar, Swift and Oriole – have launched a nationwide bottled cocktail delivery service called Speakeasy At Home. Each of the sophisticated sips are available in 220ml pouches (2 servings) and 500ml bottles (5 servings), with prices starting at £6 per cocktail. The platform is also running mix-and-match deals, meaning you can experiment with serves from all three bars. Among the Swift cocktails on offer are the Ruffian, made with Old Forester Bourbon, fig, maple and Brazilian bitters, and the Fourth Gentleman, which blends Glenlivet 12, umeshu, poire and lemon bitters.

Sips from the Nightjar include the Tickle My Fancy, made with Tanqueray gin, Electric liqueur, Pennyroyal cordial, Rinomato Bianco aperitivo, fizzy Muscat candy and freshly squeezed tangerine and lime juice; while you can get your hands on the Monchito Colada from Oriole, which blends Flor De Canã 7 years, pineapple juice, coconut and graviola cordial and is served with Franklin & Sons Pineapple & Almond Soda.

Tayer + Elementary

Alex Kratena and Monica Berg have launched their own range of bottled cocktails from their east London bar Tayēr + Elementary in collaboration with Cask Liquid Marketing. The collection includes popular Tayēr serves like the Palo Santo Gimlet, Sandalwood Martini and Bergamot Margarita. Each recipe has been kept the same to fully replicate the experience of drinking it at the bar. Presented in Tayēr’s signature style, the medicine-like brown bottles with minimalist label are available in 300ml serves.

“Following the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, we wanted to provide an opportunity for consumers to enjoy our cocktails, even if they are unable to travel. We are excited to expand our distribution opportunities with Cask to reach an even wider audience across the UK,” Berg said.

Hawksmoor

Small steakhouse chain Hawksmoor has long been known for the high calibre of its cocktails, highlights which are now available through its Hawksmoor at Home service. Offering nationwide delivery within the UK, the collection takes inspiration from legendary bartender Jerry Thomas, who, all the way back in 1862, said that bottled cocktails were well suited to “fishing and other sporting parties, although some patients insist on them in the morning as a tonic”.

Taking in both classics and new creations, the bottled cocktails range features four 200ml drinks, with prices starting from £12 and peaking at £48, while the single serve canned cocktails cost £28 for a set of four. Among those in the bottled offering are the Sour Cherry Negroni, made with preserved English cherries; and Hawksmoor classic, the Fuller-fat Old Fashioned, a decadent creation made by infusing brown butter into Bourbon. Meanwhile, the canned cocktail collection includes the Ginza Highball, a delicate drink that blends Johnny Walker Black Label with distilled quince, apple and lemon verbena soda.

Three Sheets

Neighbourhood cocktail bar Three Sheets has launched a Batched + Bottled cocktail collection of seven bottled serves that can be enjoyed at home. Inspired by the classics, they have a shelf life of 12 months, though I doubt they’ll be gathering dust on your mantelpiece. Each bottle contains up to seven serves.

Among the sips on offer are the French 75 – a carbonated combination of gin, verjus, lemon, sparkling wine and orange flower served in a wine bottle; a rooibos tea Old Fashioned; and the Earth Martini, made with vodka, beetroot and vermouth. Those keen to get into the festive spirit can give the bar’s mulled wine a whirl. Made with a Tempranillo and Cataratto base, it also features warming spices like cassia, clove and nutmeg. The range is on sale via sister venue Shop Cuvée, with same day local delivery and next day nationwide delivery on offer.

Lyaness

Ryan Chetiyawardana is constantly reinventing his cocktail concepts and lockdown has been no different. He takes a chefs approach to cocktails, marrying innovative techniques with quirky ingredients to create exciting and unexpected flavour combinations. He and the team at Lyaness at Sea Containers have launched a Lyaness at Home service with a quintet of classic Lyaness serves available for delivery directly to your door.

Among the sips on offer through the new service are the Rock Pool Sazerac and Beetle Boulevardier in three different sizes (for one person, two people or a group of five to share). The cocktails can be ordered from 2pm-10pm Monday to Friday and 1pm-10pm at weekends via Deliveroo, with prices starting from £13. A selection of bar snacks will also be available, including a halloumi burger and fried chicken burger. From this Wednesday they are also being delivered nationwide via Shopify.

Pony

Across the pond in Singapore, game-changing bar Jigger & Pony, which was recently voted the best bar in Asia, has launched a range of bottled cocktails. Called Pony, the bottled cocktail brand features two core lines: the Classic series showcases timeless flavours and cocktails like the Negroni and Old Fashioned, while the Signature series includes creative serves like the Sakura Martini.

Available in elegant 200ml and 500ml bottles with whimsical labels, the smaller bottles contain two serves while the larger vessels contain enough liquid for five. Each are made with premium spirits, from Roku gin to Suntory whisky. Each is finished with natural citrus, meaning there is no need for a garnish. The Old Fashioned uses Maker’s Mark Bourbon as a base, and is sweetened with Okinawa sugar and orange essence. The Sakura Martini, meanwhile, is a floral twist on a classic Martini featuring sakura leaf essence and peach liqueur.

Hide at Home

To pair with Ollie Dabbous’ beguiling dishes, Hide at Home has launched a bottled cocktail delivery service, which has launched with one of the basement bar’s signature serves – the Hot Gin Punch. Available for daily delivery between 5-8pm to residents in the W1 area, the hot cocktail is the brainchild of bar manager Oskar Kinberg, and features gently spiced pineapple, Cocchi Americano and Tanqueray gin. It needs to be heated up at home before being savoured.

Quo at Home

Soho institution Quo Vadis has launched a Quo at Home delivery service, which includes cocktails as well as food. Available via the Big Night delivery platform, in addition to dishes devised by executive chef Jeremy Lee, you can also order a selection of bottled cocktails created by head bartender Paolo Meneghini. Keeping things classic, among the sips on offer are Negronis and Martinis. Deliveries are made on Fridays, and orders have to be made by 3pm on Tuesdays. For every pie dish returned, the conscientious individual will be rewarded with a complimentary Negroni.
