The week in pictures: Hong Kong

Hong Kong-based wine and spirits importer Northeast Wines & Spirits hosted a Piper-Heidsieck tasting to celebrate the new distribution partnership between the two parties for the on-premise sector in Hong Kong. The Champagne brand’s ambassador Ned Goodwin MW was on hand to pour the bubbles to participating guests. 

At the tasting, Piper-Heidsieck Cuvée Brut NV, Rosé Sauvage NV, Essentiel Extra Brut NV, Vintage 2008 and Rare Millesime Brut 2002 were on pour for the guests.

Napa Valley’s female-led Spottswoode Estate Vineyard & Winery was in town to host a sumptuous wine lunch with its local importer Ponti. Beth Novak Milliken, president & CEO of the estate, treated guests with a range of its top wines including its famous Estate Cabernet Sauvignons of 2001, 2013, 2014 and 2015 vintages in addition to its Sauvignon Blanc and ‘Lyndenhurst’ Cabernet Sauvignon. 

Jebsen Fine Wines, a wine and spirits importer in Hong Kong, showcased a range of new spirits brands in its portfolio at its recent Spirits Revelation event. The new range includes rum brand Flor de Caña, Beluga vodka, Del Professore, Greenall’s Gin, Svedka, Chase Distillery and Marylebone Gin. Madam Fu welcomed CEO and co-owner of Destiny Bay in Waiheke Island, New Zealand, to Hong Kong. Destiny Bay is an ambitious project from the US-New Zealand Spratt family, originally from San Francisco. They established their home and vineyard on Waiheke Island 15 years ago.
