Zachys HK sale realises HK$36m
US auction house Zachys set a strong pace for the autumn sales season in Hong Kong with an auction that realised HK$36.8 million (US$4.8m) earlier this month.
Featuring wines from several prominent collections and top Bordeaux and Burgundy, a number of world records were also set for Latour and Screaming Eagle.
The top lot was for three Jeroboams (3L) of 1982 Petrus which made HK$617,500 and five bottles of Henri Jayer’s 1978 Cros Parantoux made HK$494,000 and another six magnums of the 1993 Vosne Romanée went for HK$444,600.
Otherwise, the top lots were all Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, with Romanée-Conti from the 2004, 2005 and 2006 vintages predominating and some assortments of 1990, 1993 and 2001.

A magnum of 1989 Latour set a world record for that wine at HK$222,300 (US$28,684) and a case of Screaming Eagle’s 2010 Sauvignon Blanc realised HK$185,250.
A magnum of cult Champagne Boërl & Kroff 1995 was picked up for HK$27,170.
