ProWein winds back the clock for 2017 event
Tickets for the 2017 edition of international wine and spirits fair ProWein are now on sale, with organisers confirming that next year’s opening hours will revert back to 9am to 6pm over three days.
The 2016 edition opened from 10am to 7pm with the aim of “relaxing” the situation on roads and public transport around the grounds of the exhibition centre to avoid clashing with morning and evening rush hour traffic.
However it was felt that the majority of exhibitors and visitors, based on feedback from the 2016 fair, preferred the original timings. In 2017 the event, which will take place in Düsseldorf from 19 to 21 March 2017, will open from 9am to 6pm.
“This way, especially the numerous industry events in the evening are in a good flow,” organisers said. “Also the evening programme for all wine aficionados, taking place in parallel in the city centre – ProWein goes city – benefits from the fact that ProWein closes again at 6pm.”
Last year the fair attracted 55,000 visitors – a 6% increase on the previous year. Visitors were reported to have travelled from 126 different countries, compared to 123 in 2015, with some 6,200 exhibitors taking stands.
