BI team to do the ‘Bacchus Half’
A keen team from BI Wines is to tackle the Surrey Bacchus Half-Marathon in aid of The Benevolent and The Sick Children’s Trust.
The half marathon takes place in the vineyards of Denbies near Dorking and across the nearby North Downs on 11 September.
Writing on the merchant’s blog, head of marketing Giles Cooper, said: “The team is a combination of ages and experiences, and all have been training hard for what promises to be an extremely challenging run – featuring some stunning scenery and at least one dramatic climb; with over 1,100ft of elevation gain across the 13.1 miles, it will be a test for both the legs and the mind.
“At least the last two miles or so is pretty much all downhill (you can tell we are trying to reassure ourselves).”

The aim is to raise £2,000 for the benefit of The Benevolent: The Drinks Industry Charity and The Sick Children’s Trust. Already 30% of that total has been raised and the fundraising page can be found here.
