Germany v Brazil pub offer backfires
An Irish pub was left dry as a bone after offering a price slash on Erdinger beer for every time Germany scored in their World Cup semi-final clash with Brazil — a game that ended up at 7-1 to the Germans.
After the spanking of the World Cup hosts by the European giants, the poor Roisin Dubh pub in Galway was pouring pints to joyous punters at 50c-a-pop (40p).
While the offer may have cleared the coffers of the local boozer, there is hope that it may do wonders to the pub’s popularity in future.
However, spare a thought for the rundown bar staff — like Johnny, who rightly looks less than impressed…
