Cognac patriarch dies

Kilian Hennessy, head of the eponymous Cognac distillery, has died aged 103.

Hennessy died at his home in Switzerland on Sunday, 3 October. He was the fifth generation of the Hennessy family which founded the house in 1765.

While CEO he was responsible for bringing the brand into a merger with Champagne house Moët & Chandon, creating Moët-Hennessy in 1971.
