WOSA looking at ‘landmark’ ProWein

Wines of South Africa is to have its biggest ever presence at ProWein this year in what has been dubbed a “landmark” year.

This year is the German wine show’s 20th anniversary and it also marks 20 years since the end of apartheid in South Africa and the country’s readmission to the global market.

Following a record year for South African exports, more than 80 companies will be exhibiting at the fair, from the major multi-brands to small independent producers.

The themed “tasting pods” will return for another year. There will be 11 stations covering varieties and blends from across the country and two new stations have been added for 2014 dedicated to “value brands”.

WOSA will also be working once again with Wines of Chile and Wines of Argentina under its “Wines of the Beautiful South” banner.

There will be a number of seminars from the likes of Tim Atkin MW and Ronan Sayburn MS exploring the wines from all three countries and including a session on wine and food pairing.
