Viña Maquis and VIK Masterclass

Join us on Monday 19th February at One Great George Street for a Chilean masterclass with Viña Maquis and VIK. Hosted by Patrick Schmitt MW you’ll be taken on a journey through two of the best producers in Chile. From one of the oldest wineries in Chile, to one of the newest, guests will uncover how history and innovation are bringing both these companies to the forefront of world wines.

Viña Maquis

Unique expressions of world-class wines as a result of pursuing excellence for three centuries.

Maquis is one of the oldest wineries in the renowned Colchagua Valley and has a unique approach for producing and ageing handcrafted wines under Eric Boissenot’s guidance.

Pioneers in sustainable management since the early years, in a terroir surrounded by two rivers, Maquis is renowned for its rich biodiversity due to the enhanced biological corridors that define the style of its wines.

Famous for its high-end Cabernet Franc and Carménère, expressed through icon wines Maquis Franco and Viola, we invite you to come and discover the history and life inside the latest vintages to be released for both wines on La Place de Bordeaux.

VIK

Located in Chile’s Millahue Valley, the sprawling 4,300-hectare VIK estate was selected by a team of leading climatologists, geologists, winegrowers and agronomists as the perfect site to craft wines that would be among the best in the world.

The incomparable nature, unique biodiversity, complexity of the terroir and exceptional viniculture has indeed produced exceptional wines. Garnering international acclaim, each of the wines is truly unique and has shown continued improvement with each vintage.

During the Masterclass you will have the pleasure of tasting the iconic VIK, La Piu Belle, Milla Cala & “A” wines.

At the core of VIK’s winemaking excellence lies a holistic philosophy, with sustainability taking the forefront in every aspect.
