LONDON MASTERCLASS SCHEDULE

Tuesday 11th October 2022:

13.30 – 15.00 | “ITALIAN SIGNATURE ON NATIVE GRAPES”  by COLDIRETTI

Speaker: Sara Tosti

The richness and diversity of grape varieties that Italy expresses through its wines are a heritage of inestimable value to the world. In this Masterclass we will explore the native grapes that represent the benchmark of Italian wine and food.

15.30 – 16.45 | “FLAVOURS OF ITALY” by COLDIRETTI

Speaker: Sara Tosti

This Masterclass will explore the places that represent the benchmark of Italian wine and food. From sparkling to bold red wines; a journey through the many shades of Bel Paese.

17.15 – 18.30 | “EXPLORING PROSECCO STYLES AND TERROIR” by MASOTTINA

Speaker: Cristina Mercuri and Filippo Bartolotta

A journey to discover the secrets of the Masottina collection, climbing the qualitative pyramid of Prosecco wines. A sensory and exploratory analysis, starting with Prosecco DOC Treviso and ending with R.D.O., the Rive di Ogliano, one of the greatest expressions of Conegliano Valdobbiadene.

Led by Cristina Mercuri, DipWSET and nominated to be the first Italian woman Master Of Wine, together with Filippo Bartolotta, eclectic wine speaker and prestigious signature of the magazines Decanter and The Drink Business, we will try to answer this question: Brut / Extra Dry is just a question of dosage and taste?

Wednesday 12th October 2022:

13.45 – 15.00 | “ASOLO PROSECCO, A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORY” by CONSORZIO ASOLO PROSECCO

Speaker: Angelo Peretti

Asolo Prosecco is the smallest of the three Prosecco denominations (21 million bottles produced in 2021), a kind of cru, in which vineyards are mixed with woods on the foothills of the Colli Asolani, Montello and Monte Grappa. Asolo Prosecco requires heroic viticulture, where vines are often grown on very steep slopes: vineyards are present on just 6% of the total surface area. During the masterclass, the participants will taste three expressions of Asolo Prosecco in a more Brut style and three in a more Dry style, to verify how the characteristics of the terroir clearly prevail over the stylistic choices.

15.30 – 16.45 | “ARTISANS OF THE FUTURE: WINES OF ABRUZZO ACCORDING TO MASCIARELLI” by MASCIARELLI

Speaker: Paolo Porfidio

A journey through Abruzzo wine culture to discover the different “expressions” of the two native grape varieties par excellence: Montepulciano and Trebbiano. A journey between craftsmanship and winemaking excellence, where care and attention to detail in the vineyard are linked to experience, tradition and the continuous search for innovation. A tale of passion and emotions, and a family’s ancient bond with its land.
