Celebrating 29 years, Premiere Napa Valley is the most renowned wine trade auction and business event in North America. The auction week is known among wine trade as the most significant business event of the year for those who buy and sell Napa Valley wines. Established in 1997, the auction takes place each year in February.

At the Premiere Napa Valley auction, wines are offered as futures to members of the wine trade. Winemakers across Napa Valley contribute lots of 5, 10 or 20 cases of unique, one-of-a-kind wines that express the soils, microclimates and remarkable personalities that make up the Napa Valley. Each lot is sold to a single member of the wine trade who then offers it to his or her top clients and collectors.

With more than half of Napa Valley Vintners’ 550 member wineries participating each year, Premiere week is the ultimate time of year to discover new brands and strengthen existing relationships. Global wine trade members consider doing business an essential part of their Premiere week experience. In attendance at the event are retailers, restaurateurs, distributors, importers and private clubs.

During the week, trade members attend multi-winery tasting and hospitality events leading up to the live auction on Saturday. In addition to tasting Premiere lots at these events, current release, commercially available wines are also offered for tasting. Trade members will have the opportunity to taste all of the lots up for auction at the grand barrel tasting. Saturday is the live auction that takes place in person with simultaneous live streaming and online bidding.
