Which drinks companies are among Europe’s fastest growing?
The Financial Times has just released its eighth annual ranking of the fastest-growing companies in Europe, with a handful of drinks businesses featuring on the list.
The FT 1000 ranking, compiled with German research company Statista, reveals the fastest growing companies in Europe across all industries.
Czech-based solar panel distributor Raylyst Solar topped the list, with an absolute growth rate of 78,890.5%. Companies included on the list are ranked in order of highest compound annual growth rate (CAGR) in revenue over the period 2019 to 2022. This year, a minimum average growth rate of 36.3% was required for inclusion.
Just 22 food and beverage companies were named on the list, with just three directly linked to the alcohol sector.
Cask Trade
London-based cask whisky business Cask Trade ranked 146th in this year’s list. The cask whisky merchant is the only cask focussed business to be recognised in the annual list.
As well as ranking within the top 15% of all companies in Europe, Cask Trade comes in as the 4th highest overall in the food and beverage sector and is ranked 29th highest of the UK businesses.
Commenting on the achievement, founder and CEO Simon Aron said: “In 2021 we opened in Asia with an office in Hong Kong. In 2024 we celebrate our fifth year and we are now proud to be selling casks of whisky and other fine spirits on every continent around the world.”
8Wines
Czech-based wine importer, retailer and e-commerce platform 8Wines ranked 441st in the list. Founded in 2015, it had an absolute growth rate of 372.6% and a CAGR of 67.8%. 8Wines delivers direct to consumers all over Europe, with wines from big-hitters like Italy, France and the US to Israeli and Greek wines.
Dalkeith Brokerage Limited
Dalkeith Brokerage offers whisky casks and rare bottles to be traded, and ranked 450th on the list. The company, which is UK-based, was founded in 2018. Dalkeith Brokerage brought in more than €10.2m in 2022, compared with €2.3m in 2019.
