Hollywood actor Woody Harrelson launches spirits company
True Detective star Woody Harrelson has launched the Holistic Spirits Company with wellness entrepreneur Amy Holmwood, putting “superfoods into spirits”.
Woody Harrelson, whose films include The Hunger Games and White Men Can’t Jump, has launched Origen Vodka and Harmony Gin the first two expressions in his new spirits range.
The Hollywood star has partnered holistic wellness entrepreneur Amy Holmwood on the new venture.
Both spirits have been developed with a selection of natural ingredients and botanicals, including artichoke leaves, elderberries, green tea leaves, and muscadine grapes (indigenous only to the American South). Origen is made with organic white wheat and Harmony is made with organic corn
In addition, Harmony Gin also includes juniper berries, coriander seed, hyssop, lemon peel, lime peel, angelica root, and orris root.
Harrelson is a long-time vegan and environmentalist, and products developed through his Holistic Spirits Company contain zero sugar, artificial flavours or colours, and no GMOs.
“For years I’ve wondered who was going to come along and put my favourite superfoods into spirits,” Harrelson said. “I think it’s a marvellous thing that Amy came up with, and I admire her sense of purpose. It was a no-brainer to get involved from the start.”
Holmwood said of the new products: “No alcohol will ever be healthy but that doesn’t mean we can’t be more conscious of what we’re putting in our bodies while we enjoy spirits, in whatever setting that may be.”
