Château Léoube appoints UK sales director

Château Léoube has appointed Anthony Gordon as UK sales director to develop the luxury winemaker’s presence in the British market.

Recognising the need to meet growing customer demand, makers of award-winning organic Provence rosé, Château Léoube have sought to grow their UK team by bringing on board a well-known name in the British wine world.

Previously senior sales manager at Sussex winemaker Nyetimber, Gordon says of joining Léoube: “I’m delighted to join the Léoube team. There is incredible history at the estate going back to the 14th Century and the dedication to organic farming
and sustainability across the wider business is a real inspiration.”

Working with Jerome Pernot, global sales director, he will be responsible for overseeing sales and brand awareness as the estate’s organic rosé grows ever-more popular. He will work to support existing customers and act as a key communicator with Léoube’s national distributor, Enotria, and sister brand Daylesford Organic.

Beginning his career with five years in retail at Majestic Wine, Gordon then moved to Pernod Ricard as a wine ambassador before taking on a commercial role growing sales. Inspired by the quality of fine sparkling wine, he moved to UK producer Nyetimber to build the estate’s reputation and distribution across London.

Having spent much of his childhood working amongst the vines at his family estate Domaine du Grand Mayne in Villeneuve-de-Duras, Gordon has now gone full circle, working once again for a family-owned French vineyard.

Pernot said: “Léoube is first and foremost a family winery, where our team are all invested in the organic, sustainable philosophy of our founders. Anthony’s understanding of this and the UK marketplace will be a great asset for Léoube and our British customers.”

Founded by organic pioneers the Bamford family, Château Léoube have sought to make organic wine from the famed French AOC Côtes des Provence region more widely accessible, encouraging consumer understanding of quality, balanced Provence rosé.
