Maison Mirabeau wins B Corp certification

Provence rosé and spirits brand Maison Mirabeau has earned B Corp certification for its high standards of social and environmental performance.

The news means the brand, founded in 2010 by Stephen and Jeany Cronk has successfully proved it has a strong commitment to transparency, accountability and continuous improvement within the wine industry, but also across wider communities and ecosystems which the brand operates within.

The rigorous B Corp certification process, which includes a number of critical elements, such as a focus on the Regenerative Viticulture Foundation (RVF) for Mirabeau.

The RVF includes attention to improving soil health and restoring biodiversity in vineyards alongside the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi), which includes putting plans in place to achieve net zero carbon emissions aligned with the goals of the Paris Agreement.

Additionally, the certification process assessed how Jeany Cronk served the community through her position on the board of Le Conseil Interprofessionnel des Vins de Provence (CIVP), where local winemakers collaborate to promote the region forwards in popularity and recognition.

Organic certification, achieved at Domaine Mirabeau, was also critical, with regenerative farming to restore microbial activity, sequester carbon, increase biodiversity and ensure winemaking is restorative.

Stephen Cronk, Maison Mirabeau CEO, said: “Maison Mirabeau is thrilled to achieve B Corp certification, as it underscores our commitment to using our business to effect positive change.

“We believe that sustainable and ethical practices are not only crucial for the well-being of our planet and communities, but also essential for long-term business success.

“This is only the beginning of a lifelong journey to decrease our impact on the environment by working with our partners to drive change through the supply chain. This certification reflects the hard work and dedication of our valued team and serves as a guiding principle for our future endeavours.

Maison Mirabeau now joins other B Corp winemakers such as Château Maris, Piper-Heidsieck, Concha y Toro, Bonterra, Symington, and Rathfinny.
