Bonhams senior international director of wine, Richard Harvey MW, explained that while online-only wine sales had been held in Hong Kong for many years, it was the first time an online-only venture had been held in the UK.

“We have assembled a very fine selection of wines for our first auction of 2023, including two substantial single-owner collections as well as interesting offerings of Italian wines, Riesling, Port and Cognac,” he said.

The sale will take place from 14-23 February.
