Majestic freezes on-trade prices until April to help hospitality
Majestic Commercial, the wine retailer’s arm which serves pubs, bars and restaurants, has announced a freeze on its on-trade prices until Spring 2023 in order to help boost the struggling hospitality sector.
Majestic Commercial, which has been a functioning part of the business for three decades, serves over 3,000 independent eateries and bars. It supplies on-trade businesses with one-of-a-kind wine lists to serve to their customers.
And in a new move, is trying to assist businesses which are struggling under financial pressures by freezing its on-trade prices until April 2023.
Industry bosses also warned earlier this year that pubs and brewers across Britain are facing price hikes upwards of 300% that could close them within months, and rising bills and more cautious customers are continuing to plague the industry.
Majestic COO Robert Cooke, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer frozen prices for this extended period of time, until Spring 2023, to help support our on-trade partners throughout what will be a difficult winter season. With a wealth of wine expertise across the Majestic business, Majestic Commercial is already helping thousands of independent pubs, bars, and restaurants around the UK level up their wine offerings — and this price freeze will help even more do so.”
Majestic is also offering customers the chance to win £1,000 by recommending their favourite pub to connect with the retailer. By putting forward independent businesses, those that then become a customer of Majestic Commercial will win consumers a £1,000 Majestic gift card, to spend themselves at Majestic.
Cooke added: “By offering a chance for wine lovers to win £1,000 too, we are hoping to help local Majestic customers support their favourite locals, and in turn be rewarded for helping businesses make a Majestic discovery. And of course, the £1,000 gift cards will be perfect for furnishing parties throughout the festive season.”
