Cameron Diaz adds a Cabernet to her Avaline wine brand

Avaline, co-founded by Cameron Diaz and Katherine Power, has announced the launch of its first Cabernet Sauvignon, an organic wine sourced and produced by the family-owned Tagaris Winery in Washington.

The launch of the bolder red wine comes in response to demand, the duo said.

“When we talked to our community about what wines they wanted next, we heard that they’d love to see a bolder red from us,” Power explained, saying it was “for all the Cab lovers out there who have been seeking a delicious organic option.”

Cameron Diaz added that the duo had always wanted to do a Cabernet, and the launch was “just in time for the holiday season”.

Tagaris’ winemaker Frank Roth said the team was proud to be partnering with Avaline to bring its organically farmed wine to a bigger audience. The family-owned Washington winery has 2,000 acres of vineyards, with some vines aged up to 30-years-old.

“The organic movement is just beginning in the United States and this is such an exciting time,” he said. “As organic grape growing pioneers in Washington State we are thrilled that Avaline is raising the bar on organic Washington wine.”

The new Avaline Cabernet Sauvignon, which clocks in at 14% ABV, is available for $30 via the brand’s website.

The launch is the latest expansion of the range, which saw a Chardonnay from Tagaris Winery added earlier this year, following a limited edition Pinot Noir from Porter Creek Vineyards from Russian River Valley in Sonoma County last October – its first Californian wine. A sparkling from Spanish biodynamic sparkling producer Raventós i Blanc was launched in December 2020 after its first French red, a blend of organically grown Grenache and Syrah grapes.

The organic range was first launched in June 2020 with a Spanish white and a French rosé from Provence producer Mas de Cadenet as part of the “clean” wine trend, which uses no synthetic pesticides or chemical additives, leading producers to claim that its wines are better for consumers’ health.
