Canned wine company Kiss of Wine announced plans to expand its range and production for 2022 in an online virtual tasting on Monday, following the launch of its own canning facility.

Kiss of wine announces plans to expand in 2022

Following its launch in 2020, Kiss of Wine‘s “big success story of the last year” was the launch of its first canning facility just outside of Berlin, “bringing all of our production in-house” according to chief operating officer Guy Palmer-Brown.

Palmer-Brown led a virtual tasting for wine trade professionals and press on Monday evening exhibiting reds from independent winemaker Rodolfo Valiente.

Valiente, a third-generation winemaker from Valencia in Spain, presented two single varietal wines via Zoom – a Tempranillo and Garnacha Tintorera.

Each of Kiss of Wine’s offerings is a single varietal wine, designed to appeal to consumers as an “approachable” single format alternative. Sold both individually and in packs of three, Kiss of Wine aims to appeal to the travel retail sector as well as DTC online sales with curated wine flights.

Plans for the future include an expansion of the range, sourcing single varietal wines from different wine regions across Europe.

The company is also looking to expand the format size on offer. Kiss of Wine currently offers just 250ml serves, but looks to expand by the summer to 187ml popular on aeroplanes and travel, and 200ml, a popular format for sparkling wines.

“There is some demand for large can sizes. The only challenges we’re having there is sourcing wine cans that big that are specifically made for wine,” said Palmer-Brown, noting that the company has considered going up to 500ml cans but no larger.
