Berkmann secures UK distribution of Champagne Jacquesson

Berkmann Wine Cellars has announced it has secured the UK distribution rights to Champagne Jacquesson from Fields, Morris & Verdin.

The group will assume distribution of the Champagne brand with “immediate effect”, and will be launching the new ‘Cuvée 743’ (based on the 2015 vintage), late release ‘Cuvée 738’ (based on 2010) and the three single vineyard wines from the 2009 vintage.

Alex Hunt MW, purchasing director at Berkmann, commented: “Having worked with Jacquesson around the time they launched their revolutionary numbered cuvées in 2003, I experienced first-hand the extraordinary dedication and attention to detail they applied both to the winemaking process itself, and to the underlying thought that guides it.

“A decade and a half of fine-tuning later, Jacquesson’s joining Berkmann is a long-held dream come true. We are all relishing the prospect of building on the good work done by FMV over that time.”

Jean-Hervé Chiquet, co-proprietor of Champagne Jacquesson, said: “We are very pleased indeed that we are going to be represented by Berkmann Wine Cellars in the UK. Like us, a family-owned company, they share our passion for quality in all things that we do. We look forward very much to working with the Berkmann team and, together with them, taking Jacquesson to even greater heights over the years to come. And we would like to thank FMV for all their work on our behalf over the past 14 years.”

Jacquesson will sit alongside another family-owned house, Champagne Drappier, in Berkmann Wine Cellars’ portfolio.
