Portobello Road and Franklin & Sons team up to release canned G&T

London gin distiller Portobello Road and mixer brand Franklin & Sons have launched a canned gin and tonic which is due to launch exclusively in London Tesco stores this month.

The new ready-to-serve cans have a 5.5% ABV and are designed to appeal to the festival, travel-leisure and general out-of-home market.

Ged Feltham, managing director of Portobello Road Gin commented: “As proud purveyors of London’s spirit, we are delighted to be partnering with Franklin & Sons to create an exceptional pre-mixed London dry gin and tonic in a can. Both brands are award-winning with a strong London heritage and are crafted with only the finest ingredients.

“The new RTD ensures that gin connoisseurs can enjoy a premium G&T for those on-the-go moments and at outdoor events this summer, such as festivals and picnics.”

The cans are “recyclable and sustainable” and include Franklin & Sons Natural Indian Tonic Water mixed with the original Portobello Road Gin.

This is not the only pre-mixed, canned gin and tonic to launch this year. In January, LoneWolf Spirits, the distilling arm of Scottish craft brewer BrewDog, launched its cans into Tesco stores, while in June last year, Adnams also launched a canned G&T.
