Ultrasonic beer carbonator launched

If you love the taste craft beer but think it goes too flat too quickly, a British company has released the perfect accessory for you: a portable, wand-like beer carbonator.

That Ultrabeer Thing sends ultrasonic waves through your drink to “stimulate the bubbles and really bring out the taste sensation”. Its makers say stirring it around your glass for a couple of seconds will “burst CO2 bubbles, creating micro-foam head”.

It was first seen in a viral marketing video lampooning insufferable beer snobs where the drinker manages to sabotage his date and put to sleep everyone he talks to with his encyclopaedic hop knowledge.

The video, called “That Mate Who’s Too Into His Beer”, has been viewed nearly 350,000 times on YouTube.

The Ultrabeer is described as a “pocket-sized ultrasonic craft beer tool” that is perfect for “craft beer, IPA, lager, Pilsner and other carbonated beers” by its makers, ThatThing.

The company also sells a clip-on smartphone light called That Selfie Pro Thing.

The Ultrabeer has an RRP of £29.99, and may soon be seen in bars all over the world.
