Lossit takes top award at Global Whisky Masters

The Lost Distillery Company’s blended Scotch malt whisky, Lossit, has been awarded the ultimate accolade of Master at the Global Scotch Whisky Masters 2016.

According to Kristiane Sherry, editor of The Spirits Business and chair of the Global Whisky Masters, Lossit attracted a Master medal for its “sweet and clean palate” and “fresh and vibrant” flavour profile.

It was the only blended malt with no age statement to achieve the top award in this year’s competition.

Scott Watson, co-founder of Crucial Drinks and The Lost Distillery Company, said: “We are truly honoured that Lossit has been recognised so highly at the Global Scotch Whisky Masters.

“We’re obsessive about craft and uncompromising when it comes to whisky quality. Each resurrected brand is the subject of an in-depth research project to establish the original character of the long lost distilleries and how it might taste today”

“Lossit is a remarkable, robust marriage of aged single malts that offers the perfect toast to the heritage of a forgotten liquid and a renowned distillery on Islay.”

Independent Scotch whisky producer, The Lost Distillery Company makes present day expressions of whiskies from long closed distilleries across Scotland.

As part of the company’s Classic range, Lossit is a marriage of aged single malts styled on the long lost distillery in Ballygrant on Islay, which closed in 1867.

The Lost Distillery Company is owned by parent organisation, Crucial Drinks, a business based in Scotland specialising in whisky and rum.
