Diageo North America CFO steps down

The chief financial officer of drinks producer Diageo’s North America division is stepping down “to pursue other career interests”, the company has announced.

Greg Kryder is resigning after three years in the role and will be replaced by the CEO of Diageo Canada, Jakob Ripshtein, who will work in both roles.

Deirdre Mahlan, the head of Diageo North America, praised Kryder for his work since taking the role in 2012 and his time in previous positions at Diageo.

“I’d like to thank Greg for his many contributions to Diageo over the last 14 years,” she said.

On Ripshtein, she said: “During his tenure leading our Canada business, Jakob has overseen the successful transformation to a broker model, delivering strong business results.”

In July’s annual statement, Diageo reported a 3% decline in volume sales in North America.

It has since quickly divested the vast majority of its wine interests, much of which was based in the US.
