Register now for db’s Wine Show – Chelsea

Trade registration for the drinks business’ inaugural Wine Show – Chelsea next month is now open, offering the chance to try hundreds of award-winning wines and take part in expert masterclasses.

Situated in the Chelsea Old Town Hall on the Kings Road, The Wine Show – Chelsea will showcase award-winning wines from around the world. The show will launch on Friday, 16 October, with an introductory trade-only afternoon from 1pm to 5pm, before opening to the general public. The event will run until the evening of Sunday, 18 October.

Masterclasses hosted by experts will also take place throughout the weekend, to which guests will be able to sign up on the day, while a series of trade-only masterclasses will take place on the Friday afternoon as follows :-

2pm – “Gran Selezione vs Gran Reserva”

For the first time ever we pit Chianti’s very best wines against those from Rioja. Using only wines from Chianti’s new top tier, Gran Selezione, and Rioja’s uppermost quality classification, Gran Reserva, we’ll consider the stylistic differences between these two great European wine regions, as well as, importantly, which one is making the better wines.

3pm – Devaux Champagne: does size really matter?

Come along and taste the difference between single bottles and magnums of three distinct styles of Champagne from the boutique brand Devaux: brut, extra-brut and rosé. This revelatory tasting aims to answer the age-old question: when it comes to Champagne, is bigger always better?

4pm – “Obscure with a high score”

The chance to taste brilliant wines that you never knew existed. All the wines have gained a gold medal in The Drinks Business Global Masters following a blind tasting by Masters of Wine. An opportunity to try first-rate Cabernet from Macedonia, lip-smacking Chardonnay from Lebanon and Rhône-rivalling Syrah from Switzerland.

We will also be holding a charity drinks tombola at the event in support of Help for Heroes. Please feel free to make a donation to this worthy cause. Any donations will be credited within the show catalogue.
