Koshu of Japan’s food and wine seminar

This year’s Koshu Trade and Press Tasting will also offer a 90-minute tutored tasting on matching a selection of its wines to food.

The tasting seminar will see 12 wines paired with six dishes, each influenced by a different cuisine from around the world.

The session will be introduced and moderated by Lynne Sherriff MW, director for Koshu of Japan in the UK and Europe. A small group of industry experts will then lead the session, including:

• Fiona Beckett, one of the UK’s leading wine and food writers

• Yuka Kudo, Japanese sommelier for 3-star Michelin restaurant Koju in Tokyo and former restaurant owner

• Charles Metcalfe, co-chairman, International Wine Challenge and wine journalist

• Patrick Schmitt, editor of the drinks business magazine.

Places for the matching seminar are free, but will be limited, anyone interested should contact Emma at emma@koshuofjapan.co.uk and tickets will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

The Koshu of Japan tasting gives attendees a chance to taste wines that are new to the UK and over 12 different producers will be showing wines at the tasting, all of whom have flown in especially for the event.

The tasting, which will also see Koshu of Japan launch its search for a UK brand ambassador, takes place on Thursday 21 February at The Westbury Hotel in Mayfair and the food and wine matching seminar takes place from 11.30am to 1pm. Click here to register.
