Renaissance arrives in West Dulwich

Renaissance Pubs has expanded its south London empire with the opening of its sixth venue, The Rosendale in West Dulwich.

The renovated Victorian coaching inn features a 65-cover dining room, 50-cover main bar and a further 300 covers in the venue’s revamped gardens. In addition, The Rosendale offers two first floor private dining rooms.

As with its sister pubs, the food focuses on seasonal, British pub food. Chef Loris Dario has moved across from fellow Renaissance pub The Tommyfield to serve up signature dishes, which include pork belly with salsa verde and crushed Jersey Royals or grilled seabass with samphire and crayfish.

Meanwhile the drinks list promises over 20 wines available by the glass or carafe as well as a rotating selection of cask ales, from Harvey’s Sussex Best Bitter to London brewer Sambrook’s Pale Ale and Yorkshire-based Timothy Taylor’s Best Bitter.

Claiming a “countryside feel”, this latest addition to the Renaissance portfolio features striped tapestry, a restored fireplace and Chesterfield sofas, alongside a selection of vintage theatre posters and antique prints by artist Adam Ellis.

Renaissance Pubs also operates The Avalon in Balham, The Bolingbroke in Battersea, The Stonhouse and The Abbeville in Clapham and The Tommyfield in Kennington.
