Bottle Green signs sponsorship deal with Discovery Network

Andrew Peace and French connection wines will be the official sponsors of Discovery Network Kitchen as of the 1 October for eight months, covering 111 hours of programmes.

The partnership between wine distributor Bottle Green and Discovery Networks UK is worth a six-figure sum and will help put the two brands into the limelight among viewers.

Branding for each will feature on a rotating basis on both weekday and weekend Discovery Kitchen programmes, including big-hitters like Come Dine with Me, which last week enjoyed viewer ratings of over six million.

All programmes over the eight month period will have branded “bumpers” as well as a strong web presence on the Discovery website.

Andrew Peace will become the face of his eponymous brand, helping consumers to form a more meaningful link with it, while giving the wines a more accessible personality.

Richard Hitchcock, Bottle Green’s marketing director, said: “To say we’re excited about this sponsorship is an understatement.

“We are teaming up with one of the world’s most prestigious digital TV networks and we will have exclusivity on the sponsorship of all their superb food programming output for eight solid months.

“We’re working with an award-winning channel and their production team, and it is proof of how much belief we have in the future of Andrew Peace and French Connection wines that we are prepared to take this major step.

“Both brands have other significant elements to this year’s marketing plan, but the tie-up with Discovery is certainly the pinnacle.”
