Bibendum signs Domaine Roux distribution deal

UK wine merchant and importer Bibendum has become the exclusive off-trade supplier of Burgundy’s Domaine Roux, and will also begin as exclusive on-premise supplier from January 2010.

Helping to develop sales for the Domaine in the UK market will be English-speaking Sebastien Roux, sales director for the Burgundy business.

Bibendum buyer Tim Marson said “We are very excited to be partnering with this historic yet dynamic family business. Roux Pere & Fils are that rare find in Burgundy: a producer that combines both breadth of portfolio and depth of volume with commercial savvy and high wine values.

"A perfect match for Bibendum. They bring us everything from highly-rated domaine-bottled Grands Crus through to price-fighting Bourgogne rouge and blanc. Sebastien Roux and his family share Bibendum’s energy, passion and commitment to bringing top quality Burgundy to a wider audience.”

Founded in 1885, there are now nine members of the family involved in the day-to day running of Domaine Roux Pere et Fils, which manages 70ha of vineyards in the Côte d’Or and Côte Chalonnaise. In addition to the cellars under the family home, the business has recently built a modern winery.
