Charity bike ride raises over £5k
A team of 12 people completed this year’s Mentzendorff Charity Cycle ride from Calais to Champagne in record time. Arriving at Bollinger in Aÿ at 11.30am on Wednesday 6 June, the group took just two and a half days to cover 400km.
Now in its third year, this gruelling test of physical and mental strength will raise, it is believed, as much as £5,000 for the Wines & Spirits Trade's Benevolent Society. The team of 12 cyclists included:
- Alan Montague-Dennis, Mentzendorff
- Andrew Hawes, Mentzendorff
- Chris Connolly, Connolly’s Wines
- Jonathan Hall, EMC
- Lucie Maquart, Mentzendorff
- Patrick Schmitt, the drinks business
- Paul Matthew, The Hide Bar
- Phillip Amps, Amps Fine Wines
- Richard Hamblin, D&D Restaurants
- Sean Welsh, Mentzendorff
- Tim Veale, Mentzendorff
- Will Oatley, Mentzendorff
Cheques for the Benevolent should be made payable to WSTB Trading Co and sent to Lucy Roberts at Mentzendorff, Prince Consort House, 27-29 Albert Embankment, London, SE1 7TJ
