Absolut hosts its newest HK Art Bar

As part of Hong Kong’s Art Central festival, Absolut has launched its limited-edition Absolut Mix bottle in collaboration with ‘junk food’ artist James Ostrer, who has created a rainbow spectrum of cocktails.

The bizarre world of artist James Ostrer

Best known for his work concerning the evils of junk food and society’s consumption of sugar, artist James Ostrer has partnered up with Hong Kong’s mixologists from Maxmial Concepts and Zuma to create seven cocktails featuring the colours of the rainbow, using Absolut Vodka’s limited edition bottle, Absolut Mix.

The Absolut Art Bar at Hong Kong’s Art Central Festival from 23-26 March will serve the blue, violet and yellow coloured cocktails, called Absolut Clarity, It’s All About Me and Inevitable Joy which also only use the fruits’ natural sugars – highlighting Ostrer’s focus on modern-day sugar addiction.

The cocktails will be available at Zuma throughout the month of March where the Japanese bar will create a colourful food-pairing menu and also at Maximal Concepts’ Limewood.

Launched in Hong Kong as part of the Art Central festival, Absolut’s limited edition bottle, Absolut Mix contains six colours which mix together whenever the bottle is moved. Absolut Mix will be available in Hong Kong for general release later on in the summer.

Made with infused violets, blueberry and cardamom, Ostrer’s Absolut Spirituality is purply-good.

Ostrer’s red cocktail, Happy Inner Selfie combines Absolut Mix vodka with pomegranate, cinnamon and yuzu.

Ostrer’s Happy Ending is simply made with kumquat and Absolut Mix.

Liquid Assets is a green medley of Absolut Mix, kiwi and pandan leaf and represents “balance and harmony”.

Trooping the colour: Ostrer’s bright cocktails will be at the Absolut Art Bar at Art Central, as well as Zuma and Maxmal Concepts’ Limewood.
