Whiskies dominate at Acker’s next auction

Rare lots of Karuizawa, Ichiro and Macallan are set to headline at Acker’s upcoming November sale in Hong Kong.

The New York auction house has just announced its whisky line up for its next Asia sale, taking place on 7 November in the Grand Hyatt at 9am HKT.

With a focus on premium Japanese whisky, the auction offers “the rarest and most highly coveted malts on the collector’s market,” commented Acker, Merrall & Condit’s CEO, John Kapon.

Highlights include a parcel of 30-year-old Karuizawa, a bottle of Nikka 35 year-old and the much sought-after Ichiro’s Malt and Hanyu.

A bottle of 1972 Karuizawa Single Malt (lot 536) is estimated between HK$52,000-HK$68,000 while four bottles of 30-year-old Macallan (lot 158) are set to go for HK$48,000-HK$64,000.

“After a long slumber, spirits have made a triumphant return to the auction block!” continued Kapon. “We’re thrilled to present stellar selections of rare whisky that belong in your collection.”
