HK’s T’ang Court awarded three Michelin stars

The Michelin Guide 2016 has announced the winners – and retainers – of the much-coveted Michelin star in Hong Kong and Macau.

The only Hong Kong restaurant to move up to three stars this year; T’ang Court earned its first star in 2009.

Bob van den Oord, managing director of The Langham, Hong Kong said: “We are truly honoured with this award, as this win reinforces T’ang Court’s commitment to excellence. The team is dedicated in serving authentic Cantonese cuisine and providing outstanding service to diners at T’ang Court. I am very proud of our team’s efforts.”

T’ang’s menu treats include sautéed crab roe with golden fried pork and crab meat puffs, as well as the stir-fried fresh lobster with spring onions, red onions and shallots.

T’ang joins existing three-starred Hong Kong restaurants, Bo Innovation, L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, Lung King Heen, 8 1/2 Otto e Mezzo – Bombana and Sushi Shikon, whereas The Cordis’ Ming Court and Forum in Causeway Bay gained two stars.

Phillipe Orrico’s ON Dining, Peking Garden, Serge et le Phoque and Ta Vie were awarded one star this year, brining the total number of Michelin-starred restaurants in Hong Kong and Macau to a grand total of 77.
