Palo Alto launches water access campaign

Chilean winery Palo Alto is launching a new campaign to help give different communities throughout the country access to water.

“Enjoy Wine, Give Water!” is the name of the new campaign that Viña Palo Alto is promoting on social media and points of sale in more than 35 countries.

Through this initiative the winery seeks to help different communities in Chile that have difficulty accessing drinking water by installing water towers and distributing millions of litres of water to thousands of families.

Martin Cuthbert of brand owner Quinta de Maipo said: “Undoubtedly, access to drinkable water is one of the most important things in life and everyone should have it. Viña Palo Alto has identified many communities that do not have easy access to this resource, and we are determined to find a solution to this problem.”

An activity associated with the campaign invites fans of the brand to share a video with theme of “water” using the ‘Dubsmash’ application and the hashtag #WaterHitPaloAlto, from which ten of the most original videos. The most voted video of those ten will receive “an amazing prize”, a statement from the winery said.

The project adds to the winery’s efforts to promote sustainability, which began a year ago with the campaign ‘Bosque Palo Alto Patagonia’, which resulted in more than 10,000 trees planted to contribute to the reforestation and preservation of the ecosystem of the Chilean Patagonia.
