Sarment adds ‘Super Rhône’ to its Asia portfolio

Hong Kong wine merchant Sarment has taken on Roc d’Anglade, Chêne Bleu and Domaine de Trévallon for its membership across Asia.

Targeted towards Sarment’s members in Hong Kong, China and Singapore, Roc d’Anglade is an organic winery hailing from Gard Vin de Pays and located in the village of Langlade approximately half an hour from the centre of the Rhône Valley. The estate was created in 1999 by Rémy Pedreno and continues on from the pre-phyloxerra days when wines from the region were served at the table of Louis XIV in Versailles.

Chêne Bleu is also available in Hong Kong, China and Singapore and is from Vaucluse Vin de Pays. In less than a decade of vintages, Chêne Bleu has become one of the region’s most iconic wineries and was founded by Xavier and Nicole Rolet on Mount Ventoux.

Domaine de Trévallon is available in China, Singapore and Malaysia and originates from the Bouches-du- Rhône Vin de Pays. Eloi Durrbach planted his first vineyard in the Alpilles in 1973 and now farms 15 hectares of Cabernet and Syrah and makes a very small amount of Marsanne and Roussanne from a small two hectare plot.

“Such a selection of stand-out VDP wines has rarely been seen on one portfolio and their lack of an esteemed appellation restricts them from being at the forefront of the public gaze,” said Ali Nicol, Sarment’s marketing manager.

“With Sarment’s new ‘Super Rhône’ attribution, we aim to put these wines firmly into the spotlight in Hong Kong, China, Singapore and Malaysia to show the beauty of these underappreciated wines from once-unknown areas of France.”
