Europe’s largest South American wine tasting hits London

Wines of Chile and Wines of Argentina are joining forces to host a tasting of more than 1,000 wines from both sides of the Andes as part of the Mercado Andino tasting.

Around 140 wineries, from boutique producers to established big brands, will be showcasing their wines at the event in London’s Old Spitalfields market, bringing a slice of Latin flair to the capital.

The event will give visitors the chance to discover wines from both countries, be the first to try the 2015s releases and attend various seminars with experts and winemakers in the trade.

Winemakers from both countries will be hosting informal tasting sessions each day within the Market Square.

Two themed table tastings will also take place; Andean Accolades, which will feature 25 wines from both Chile and Argentina that have recently won trophy’s in big competitions, and Pioneering Starts, featuring wines resulting from new projects and styles that are reflective of the pioneering spirits of Chile and Argentina.

The Mercado Andino tasting will take place at Old Spitalfields Market (Punchinello Gate Entrance) off Brushfield Street in London on Wednesday, 9 September, from 10am to 6pm, and from 10am to 4.30 pm on Thursday, 10 September.
