PLB to distribute Australia’s Capel Vale

PLB has been named the new UK agent for Western Australian winery Capel Vale, which will distribute to the specialist, independent and on-trade markets.

Capel Vale winemaker, Peter Pratten, was one of the first to identify viticultural potential in the cool climate regions of Western Australia, including Margaret River, Pemberton, Mount Barker, and Geographe.

He said: “The Regional Series wines are grown where the optimal expression of its variety can be achieved. Site and varietal selection is the result of more than thirty years of research, trial and observation of vine performance in Capel Vale’s various vineyards. There is a real focus on balance, complexity and elegant fruit flavours.”

The UK Capel Vale range consists of four wines with an RRP of £14.49: Margaret River Chardonnay, Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon, Mount Barker Riesling and Mount Barker Shiraz.

Speaking on the new partnership, Capel Vale CEO Simon Pratten said: “Capel Vale is very excited to be a part of the new PLB portfolio, as it provides us with an opportunity to have our wines represented in the UK market by a group of passionate wine professionals who also understand our family values.”

Capel Vale wines will be on tasting at PLB’s Regional Trade Tastings on the 4, 5, and 6 March.
