UK wine merchant sees 24% rise in sales

Sales at Jascots rose by 24% in 2013 with the merchant attributing some of its success to being named UK on-trade supplier of the year at the 2013 Drinks Business Awards.

A “record client retention rate” of 95% and significant new business referrals were also credited with the success marking the continued economic recovery of hotels, restaurants and caterers.

John Charnock, managing director of Jascots, said: “Improved sales performance provides the best yard stick to measure whether we are working together with our clients to improve their business.

“It is crucial to them that we strive to be the best in class, and this is just another way of demonstrating that fact whilst doing good for the world.’

The merchant reduced its carbon footprint by just over 10% in 2013, adding to a 16% reduction in 2012, despite a 20% increase in the number of bottles distributed.

The Drinks Business this week launched its 2014 celebrating good practice in the drinks industry.
