The decision follows the recommendation of his older sister Dominique Hériard Dubreuil, who is due to step down from the role at the end of this year, although she will remain on the board.

Currently chairman of the management board of Andromède, his family’s holding company, François holds additional posts as chief executive of several subsidiaries, including Orpar, Rémy Cointreau’s holding company.

François has also been vice-chairman of Chinese producer Dynasty Wines since 1980. Based in Tianjin, from where it produces more than 100 different wines, Dynasty’s second largest shareholder is Rémy Cointreau.

Responding to his appointment, François said: “I would like to thank the Board for the trust it has placed in me, which demonstrates and reaffirms the family’s involvement in the continued implementation of the Group’s development strategy”.
