ProWein 2013 promises “top-notch” programme

ProWein 2013, which will be held in Düsseldorf from 24 to 26 March is promising a “top-notch” supporting programme to go with the exhibition.

Over 4,000 exhibitors from around 50 countries will be present in the nine exhibition halls that make up ProWein 2013.

The ProWein Forum will feature numerous seminars, the central tasting zone and the FIZZZ-Lounge, which will be showcasing modern versions of classic cocktails and will also have several bartending shows each day.

For the first time ProWein 2013 will now feature a central lecture forum and these events will be free-of-charge for trade visitors.

In the central tasting zone there will be tastings from ProWein exhibitors from around the world, under the banner “Fasionable and Leading Varieties in International Wine Cultivation”.

The idea here is to show the diversity of wine available from set grape varieties. There will be eight red and eight white wines in the spotlight. The eight approved white wine varieties are Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Pinot Blanc, Viognier, Verdejo and Grüner Veltliner, The red wines must derive solely from Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz, Grenache, Sangiovese, Tempranillo/Tinta Roriz and Blaufränkisch/Lemberger.

In addition, and following on from a successful showing at ProWein 2012, there will be a special tasting zone for award-winning organic wines.

More information and details on tickets is available from www.prowein.de.
